These boots reminded me of reason why I stopped purchasing Stacy Adams shoes years ago...The ridiculous crease factor!



I tried on the right boot the day I received the boots and initially I liked them a great deal. The next day I put together an outfit to wear with these boots. While trying on the outfit I noticed something. One boot was in perfect condition while the one i tried on the day before was very creased along the top rear of the boot as well as where my toes would bend.



My initial response was "the hell!" because I have yet to take more than 30 steps in these boots. Shook my head and proceeded to finish putting together my outfit.



While standing in these boots for approximately 3 to 5 mins, I noticed that they felt uncomfortable around the heel as though I'd been standing in them all day.



For me and I can only speak for me, these boots run small as well. I'm a slim guy at no more than 5'7inches and can easily fit into a 6 or 6.5 shoe/boot/sneaker. These boots in size 7 felt tight to me. Overall I'm kinda disappointed.

Here is the letter i wrote to Keen Customer service today:

I have worn virtually nothing but the targhee keen hiking shoes for seven years-but no more. What have you done? I have owned 5 pairs. They were all Perfect! Imagine my shock when I went to get a new pair Yesterday and found that not only did my size 11's no longer fit, there was now no size that fit! They are tight across top of foot, look terribly cheap, and are obviously very shoddily made.



I can buy a cheap shoddy shoe that doesnt fit at wal mart for $29. Why would i pay $129 for the same thing?



Went on line this morning and found out long term Keen fans are all having same disastrous experience.



So sad to see Keen go the same way as all the other greedy corporations producing cheap lousy products while trying to get a premium price for them.



Good bye Keen....

I purchased my first pair of Doc Martins back in 1997 and I am just now needing to replace them. Docs are the best investment in shoes because they truly last. These particular boots are great for anyone who wants a pair of boots they can wear in warmer weather because they are not very thick or padded with cloth like a lot of winter boots have.



They do take about a day or two to break them in, but once you do it is so worth it. Docs are the best shoes for people who suffer from foot problems, like myself. They are wide enough to fit comfortably, and the soles give support your arches need for a day on your feet.

Have only had these boots for about a week but have been wearing them everyday. I do about 4 or 5 miles per day walking in the woods and know I should wear hiking boots, but I decided to wear these for 1 day to break them in and then go back to my sneakers or hiking shoes. I was willing to suffer 1 day to break these in. That was last week and I've been wearing them everyday since then. No break-in period for me..they've been very comfortable. I did put thin foot insoles in but I do that with all of my footwear before I put them on...so I'm not sure how they would be without them. I'm guessing they would be OK. It has rained a few days here and so far they are definitely waterproof. These boots also look good for riding my motorcycle. I got the charcoal color and they are sharp looking. I'm going to buy another pair over the Winter in another color since I'm so happy with these. I highly recommend these boots.

I picked these up during black friday and I honestly must commend the aesthetics of this beauty. I've garnered multiple compliments commending all sorts of aspects of this shoe. When I first got them, the leather was a bit shinier than depicted, but I liked it! There were some leather scars and slight discoloration spots where the shoe must have been rubbing up on the side of the box, but that was easily mended with some shoe polish and mink oil. Oh man, after the initial treatments, they looked absolutely STUNNING. I recommend you polish and condition before the first wear. Also, the stock laces are pretty flimsy. Do yourself a favor and upgrade to some dark leather laces. The shoes look wonderful with a nice pair on. In my opinion, these look better than my Clarks.



Pros:

- Gorgeous

- Low Price; Great value

- Decent insulation

- Prime applicable

- Versatile; can be dressed up just as easily as it can be dressed down

- Garners many compliments

- Decent leather and construction



Cons:

- Does not seem like it'll last me forever (what do you expect from a $40 shoe?)

- Tough heel

- Insole is not the comfiest

- Skinny through the toe (was fine for me, but look out)



Conclusion:

I'm very happy with these shoes. They're chic, versatile and built nicely. What are you waiting for? BUY THEM!

For those expecting sneaker quality fit... STOP looking for boots! Boots do not fit like sneakers. Boots are always made 1 size bigger so buy 1 size smaller. I'm a size 11, so I wear 10 in boots. I have regular size width in my feet so these fit like a glove. Perfect from all sides. They will be tight at first. You MUST wear all boots in over time. The fit gets better and better with time. For people complaining about creasing...call me when the world is a perfect place and cars don't crash, phones don't break, and boots don't crease.



Be honest with yourself, if you have hulk sized feet then buy hulk sized heavy duty extra wide boots....not these formal /casual fashion boots.



These boots go with light and dark gray denim, khakis, dress pants and even suits. Very versatile and worth every penny. They have decent arch support and good padding. Best with slim jeans or slim dress pants.

This shoe was very tight for a 10.5! It seemed very narrow as well, so all in all, it was uncomfortable. Also, though I thought the boots looked decent in the picture, in reality they seemed a bit cheap. They did not feel rugged at all, and I sent them back for a refund.

I only give one star because I want others can see this comment. In amazon size chart, US 9 equal to Europe 43. But actually in Skechers shoe box US9 equal to Europe 42. So be careful to choose the shoe size. Sorry for giving one star, it's good shoe if you can choose the right size. I wanted to complaint this to Amazon, but couldn't find the right way.

I bought this pair to replace my Skechers Magnate safety toe shoes. I must say the confort level as compared to my magnate shoes is not so close. By far my magnate shoes are the most comfortable safety shoes I have had. Well I would not say the constuctor is bad, it needed to be worn for sometime for these shoes to break in. First time wearing the constuctor out of the box, you will feel these shoes are stiff but the cushioning is still adequate and confortable. Overall they are not so bad shoes to own considering the price difference with the Skechers Magnate. My rating 6.5/10.

I've just received these boots in the mail today and am overall impressed with the look, fit and overall construction of the boot. The only issue is that they were a bit skimpy on the inner-padding of the boots, so they aren't very comfortable on your heels. But you can buy some insoles to fix that problem and still spend less on the boots + insoles than you'd spend in a store for just the boots, and with the added comfort of the insoles, you'd have an excellent boot for the price. I'd probably buy this product again.



Update (11/16/2014):

I've recently purchased some insoles for these boots and now they're perfect. Very comfortable and these boots will serve their purpose well this winter.

My 12 year old loves these - we got them for tromping thru the woods around the house, walking to the deer blind, etc...



These are (almost) perfect! They are warm, the insert is removable for times of the year when you don't need the extra warmth. The only thing is they are quite TIGHT with the insert, and I went up a full size. Without the insert - they fit perfect (with just a little growth room). I would recommend that you go up in size to accommodate the nice thick warm insert.

I did some research and on the Eastland website these shoes were $100, I got them on the Amazon deal of the day for $50 Prime. Quality is top notch, stitching and glue are nice and clean and the material is very good quality all around. I wear a size 12 and these fit me perfect and are extremely comfortable. I plan on using these shoes at the gun range and out door activities.

It's a good warm boot with a nice grip on snow.

my size is between 9 and 9.5, so 9 is usually abit small and 9.5 is abit relaxed. so I ordered 9.5 but it gave me the usual feeling of a 9. I returned it and bought a 10, there we go, it was just the perfect size.

So I suggest you buy half a size larger in case of this nice winter boot.

In nearly 26 years of auto repair I have never had a work boot last longer than 6 months. Not even the much ballyhooed Red Wing. In 4 - 6 months its always been time to pony up for another pair of work boots - til now. From 7 a.m. till 11 p.m., Monday - Friday these boots have been on my feet. Now, 12 months later, the soles are finally near smooth. I still have another 2 months left in them at this rate but for the price, why wait? This is the very best work shoe EVER!! I was amazed how comfortable these shoes were right out of the box! I tried them on carpet at first and they felt great, but when I went on my hardwood floors I could really appreciate the rubber gum soles that have made these desert boots so very popular all these years. They feel wonderful on your feet and one can match them with almost anything, from blue jeans to chinos.



NOTE*** I am very glad to other reviewers who have commented on the sizing.

I normally wear a size 10 but went with a size 9-1/2 and they fit perfect! I did have the chance to try on a size 10 on sale at Macy's last weekend before these had arrived and they were big on me so I was happy when the size 9-1/2 arrived today and the fit was perfect, so be sure and order one size down as they DO RUN LARGE.

I am sure I will be ordering another pair soon!
